Gingham + Corduroy
Hi, friends! Whew! We have a lot to catch up on–including the weekend around our engagement and my Fall 10×10 recap! And I promise, I will get to all of that soon. But first, I wanted to share this fun pattern mixing look with gingham and corduroy.

Pattern mixing can be intimidating, but when you stick to similar color families and vary the scale of the patterns, it's actually quite easy! Here, I paired a black and white buffalo check shirt with a rust corduroy skirt. The patterns work together because they're both classic, timeless prints in complementary colors.

The corduroy skirt adds such a great fall texture to the look, and the A-line silhouette is both flattering and comfortable. I love how corduroy has made such a comeback in recent years – it's such a cozy, nostalgic fabric that feels perfect for autumn.

I finished the look with simple cognac ankle boots and minimal jewelry. When you're doing pattern mixing, it's best to keep everything else relatively simple so the patterns can be the star of the show.
Do you like pattern mixing? What are your favorite pattern combinations?
